Ever wished you could play your favorite Windows games right on your Android phone? Well, with Winlator, it’s totally possible! It’s like having a mini PC right in your pocket. But here’s the catch—Winlator doesn’t support Steam.
So, if you were hoping to log into your Steam library and start gaming, that’s not an option (yet). Instead, you’ll need to have a backup of your games.
There are two great ways to do this:
- Using GOG Galaxy to back up and transfer your purchased games.
- Downloading free, legal PC game demos from trusted sources like the Internet Archive.
Let’s walk through both methods step by step. By the end of this guide, you’ll have your favorite PC games running on your Android device with Winlator!
Note: Adding and playing games on Winlator requires setting it up properly on your Android device. If you haven’t already, please install and setup Winlator first.
1. Adding Games Using GOG Galaxy
GOG Galaxy is a fantastic platform that lets you purchase and back up PC games without DRM restrictions. This makes it super easy to transfer and install games on Winlator.
1. First, install the GOG Galaxy app on your PC. You can download it from the official GOG website.

2. Launch the app as an administrator and sign in with your GOG account.

3. Browse your library and pick the game you want to play on your Android phone through Winlator.

4. Add the game to your cart and complete the purchase (if you don’t already own it). GOG often offers DRM-free games, making it easier to back them up.

5. Go to the Owned Games section in the sidebar, select the game, and open the Extras tab.
Download all the files under the Offline Backup Installers section.

6. Once the download is complete, click the folder icon to locate the files on your PC.

Copy these files to your Downloads folder on your Android smartphone using a USB cable or any file transfer app.

7. Open Winlator and run a Container by pressing the three-dot icon at the top-right corner, then selecting Run.

8. Inside Winlator, select the D drive, navigate to your downloaded game files, and install the game by running the setup.exe file.

9. After installation, you can create a shortcut for easy access:
Open the Winlator Container, find the game’s EXE file, right-click it, and select Create Shortcut.

10. Tap on the menu icon in Winlator and select Shortcuts. You’ll find your game’s shortcut listed here for quick access.

That’s it! You can now enjoy your GOG Galaxy game on your Android device using Winlator.

2. Adding Free PC Games from the Internet
If you don’t have GOG Galaxy, you can still play free, legally available PC games by downloading them from trusted sources. For this example, let’s use the Internet Archive to grab the free demo of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.
1. First, find a trusted source for free PC games. In this case, I’m using the Internet Archive to download the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 Demo.

2. Once the game file has been downloaded, ensure it is moved to your Android’s Downloads folder using a file manager app.
3. As with the previous method, open Winlator and run a Container by selecting the three-dot icon and choosing Run.
4. Inside the Container, navigate to the D drive, locate the downloaded game’s setup.exe file, and run the installer.
5. After the game is installed, follow the same process to create a shortcut:
Open the Winlator Container, find the game’s EXE file, right-click, and select Create Shortcut.
6. Go to the Shortcuts menu in Winlator to find your game and launch it directly from there.
Adding games to Winlator might seem a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s actually super easy! Whether you’re backing up games through GOG Galaxy or downloading free PC game demos, Winlator makes it possible to bring your favorite Windows games to Android.
So go ahead—follow these steps, start gaming, and turn your Android phone into a portable Windows gaming machine!

I Have a copy of a windows application I am trying to run on my Samsung. S8 Android14 Tablet UsingWinlator8.
I downloaded a Copy of the setup.exe file Of the Windows application otno my Android14 Tablet. Using a file manager, I found the downloaded setup.exe File In Androids download folder. How do I copy that program into the winlater8 container I created So I can click the RUN Command to install that application & Then run it.? I have read that.I am supposed to run a Windows setup.exe From within winlater8’s D drive folder. However, I can’t get the file copied into the D folder ( Or any other folder) because Winlator8 Doesn’t Have a ” Paste” Command, that I can find, and use from within the Containers D Drive folder.
This is my first time using winlater8 And after searching for a A
month This is the only relevant installation information i’ve been able to find to attempt to go by.
Am I on the right track Or because I’m a newbie, doing something wrong.? Do I just simply need to paste the windows Setup.exe File into the my winlater8 Containers d drive folder & run it?
